Commercial Waste and Recycling Kerbside Collection Services and Price List 2026-27
Orkney Islands Council offers a trade waste and recycling collection service to all businesses on Mainland Orkney. On some non-linked isles, beige bags are used for disposing of commercial waste.
Please note that any variation to the contract within the financial year attracts a £77.00 cost per variation.
All costs include bin rental and the collection and disposal of the contained waste at stated frequency.

Seasonal services for waste and source segregated recycling, collected fortnightly only, can be requested on Shapinsay at the same rates as on the mainland.
We do currently provide some trade waste bin services on Westray, Hoy and Flotta. If your business is based on Westray, Hoy or Flotta and you would like to change to a bin collection service, please be in touch with us at the above noted details to arrange.
For all other non-linked isles, we provide a beige bag collection service for waste.
For sites who have a beige bag service, rather than a wheeled bin service, a minimum order requirement of 50 beige bags per annum has been introduced. There is an exception for businesses open on a seasonal basis only, who are subject to a minimum order of 25 bags per annum.
