Buckingham Palace has announced ceremonial, celebratory and community events that will take place over the Coronation Weekend between Saturday, 6 and Monday, 8 May 2023.
The Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort will take place at Westminster Abbey on Saturday, 6 May, 2023. The Service will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury and will reflect the Monarch’s role today and look towards the future - while being rooted in longstanding traditions and pageantry.
Across the Coronation Weekend, there will be further opportunities for people to come together in celebration of the historic occasion.
The Coronation Big Lunch, at which neighbours and communities are invited to share food and fun together, will take place across the country on Sunday, 7 May. You can find out more about coordinating a Coronation Big Lunch on the get involved page of the coronation website. You’ll also find a toolkit with fun printouts, Coronation emblem and bunting, playlists, recipes and planning kit.
