Stromness Community Centre and Town Hall

Situated in the heart of Stromness, the Town Hall is a converted church just off the main through fare. It is an excellent concert venue, seating up to 300 and with arguably the best acoustics in Orkney. Modular staging up to 40m2 is available, adapting to any layout required. A Fazioli Grand piano is also on site. Retaining the character of a church, with oak flooring and stained glass windows, the Town Hall is also an ideal wedding venue.

Located near the heart of picturesque Stromness, the Community Centre offers a warm and friendly welcome, along with a wide range of facilities. The Centre provides a variety of multi-purpose rooms for hire that can cater for intimate meetings and larger conference groups with breakout areas available at competitive rates. A variety of equipment such as LCD projectors, flip charts, etc. are available for hire from the centre, ensuring that your requirements are catered for.

Facilities

Stromness Community Centre - Stromness Community Centre caters for a broad spectrum of sporting and leisure activities, whether you just want to pop in for a coffee and a game of pool, to your own sports or leisure club. With 3 rooms available and a large variety of equipment for hire, the centre is suitable for many activities.
Games Hall 18 x 12.5m - This generously proportioned hall can accommodate most sports and leisure activities with plenty of on site equipment to use, including:- badminton, basketball, football, volleyball, short tennis, quick cricket, carpet bowls, curling, unihoc, etc.
Coffee Bar Area - The coffee bar/reception has a pool table and table football available. Just off the reception is a full sized snooker table. A perfect way to spend some time in more inclement weather.
Room A1 12.5 x 4.5m - A light and airy room with plenty of natural light. With north facing windows this is a great space for art classes. Smaller than the games hall, this facility is great for a smaller group or class.
Room A3 12.5 x 6m - Laid with a dance floor and lighting, and a wall of mirrors, this room lends itself perfectly for dance classes and discos. Also situated in this room is table tennis equipment, air hockey and table football. Again, a smaller room than the games hall, this room is ideal for smaller groups and classes.
Town Hall - The Town Hall, which is a separate building located just off the main through fare is an excellent venue available for pre-arranged hire. Further details on price, availability etc. is available from the Community Centre.
