Campsites and Hostels
Find the perfect base for all your Orkney adventures!
Orkney Islands Council operates two campsites and three hostels, offering comfortable, great value accommodation.
- The Hoy Centre – a fully accessible 4 star hostel with ensuite rooms
- Rackwick Hostel – located in the scenic Rackwick valley
- The Birsay Hostel and Campsite – 3 star campsite and hostel accommodation in the north-west of the Orkney mainland
- Point of Ness Campsite, Stromness – located a few minutes walk from Stromness town centre on the scenic shoreline
The hostels welcome singles, families and groups with exclusive room or whole hostel hire available.
The campsites are suitable for tents, caravans and motorhomes, with electric hook-up and toilets, showers and washing facilities on site.

We would encourage members of the public to use the online booking system as telephone and email bookings will incur an additional admin charge.
