Adult Day Care Services
Day care can provide therapeutic activity, promoting health and well-being in situations where it is not possible to meet needs by other community activities.
It provides support and care for people with disabilities and for older people, helping them to live as independently as possible in their own homes within their own communities. It aims to support families who care for people thus allowing them to have a regular break from caring.
There is no charge for standard services; however there is a charge for lunch.
There are four Day Centres for older people:
Gilbertson Day Centre

The catchment area is east Orkney Mainland, including Kirkwall and the linked Southern isles.
