Civic Government Licensing

The Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 makes provision of the licensing and regulation of certain activities.

Licences are issued and enforced for a wide range of functions. The application forms, guidance notes and conditions of licence are available to download on the pages listed below which can be accessed from the 'More pages in this section' menu.

A list of the application fees for each licence category can be found on this page from the 'Related Links' section of this page.

Officers responsible for Civic Government Licensing seek to protect the public by ensuring that all applications are carefully considered and that appropriate consultations are undertaken before any licences are issued. Once a licence has been issued Council officers have a further responsibility to monitor and enforce the conditions attached to the licence.
