Funding for Energy Efficiency Upgrades in the Home

Energy Efficient Scotland: Area Based Scheme (EES: ABS) 2021/22

The Scottish Government has awarded funding to Orkney Islands Council to assist home owners, private sector tenants and landlords to improve the energy efficiency of their homes.

Eligible households can receive funding for:

Up to £10,000 is available per applicant. However, a higher grant award of £14,000 can be considered based on the applicant’s circumstances.

EES: ABS 2020/21

The Council has secured an extension for EES: ABS 2020/21 and we are working with our managing agent to complete these upgrades by 31 October 2021.

Our managing agent for this period was Firefly Energi (Orkney) Ltd.

Home Energy Scotland

Additional support and energy efficiency advice is available from Home Energy Scotland (HES).

HES is funded by the Scottish Government and managed by Energy Saving Trust. They offer free and impartial energy efficiency advice and are available on the freephone helpline number 08088082282.
