Orkney Islands Council has made the above-named Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to ensure the safety of site personnel and road users while maintenance works are carried out.
The Order will come into operation on Monday 18 October 2021 for the period until and including Friday 26 November 2021 and its effect will be to close Churchill Causeway No 2. for short durations to allow materials to be safely delivered for maintenance purposes, when required. Vehicles using Churchill Causeway No 2 will be subject to delays and a speed limit of ten miles per hour. Vehicular traffic may also be restricted to using one lane of the carriageway. Traffic signs will be erected to indicate when the road is closed.
