Notice is hereby given that Orkney Islands Council has made an order in terms of section 62 of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 to the effect that on Sunday 12 September 2021, in connection with the Riding of the Marches, the roads in Kirkwall specified in the Schedule hereto will be closed to vehicular traffic and parking will not be permitted between the hours specified in the Schedule. Between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, parking in Broad Street will be prohibited and the Broad Street Car Park will be closed. Alternative routes for vehicular traffic are available by way of adjoining roads.
In addition, between 14:30 and 16:30 parking will not be permitted in B9148 New Scapa Road (between A963 Holm Branch Road and B9053 Scapa Bay Road).
While the Riding of the Marches is taking place, traffic controls will also be in operation along the remainder of the route. Vehicles will be subject to delays and possible speed restrictions.
