OIC Building Standards donation to Peedie Retreat fund

Date: 29 April 2022

Peedie retreat donation

Staff within the Council’s Building Standards department have been playing their part in helping raise some funds towards the creation of The Peedie Retreat – a holiday home for residents affected by cancer and Multiple Sclerosis.

Anna and Reuben Johnston are behind the plans and are raising funds to create a retreat at Inganess beach.

“We would like to send a heartfelt thanks to Council workers from the Building Standards Team.  At Christmas time every year they do a whip round for a local charity and most recently they decided to donate their collection of kindness to The Peedie Retreat. Jack Leslie has also selflessly donated the collection made in aid of his retirement from the Council to the charity.

“Thank you OIC Building Standards and Jack Leslie for raising £227 towards building Orkney’s peedie place of happiness.”
