Pension Fund Sub-committee

The Pension Fund Sub-committee has responsibility to discharge all functions and responsibilities relating to the Council’s role as administering authority for the Orkney Islands Council Pension Fund (the Pension Fund) in terms of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1994, the Superannuation Act 1972 and the Public Service Pensions Act 2013.

The Scheme of Administration, which sets out the referred and delegated functions of the Council and its Committees and Sub-committees, is available from the 'Related Downloads' section of this page. The Scheme of Administration also sets out details of the Pension Board, established under the provisions of The Local Government Pension Scheme (Scotland) Regulations 2014. The Pension Board meets at the same time as the Pension Fund Sub-committee and considers the same agenda items.

Membership

The Pension Fund Sub-committee comprises seven members of the Policy and Resources Committee. Membership is identical to that of the Investments Sub-committee.
