Orkney Islands Council has made the above-named order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to ensure the safety of site personnel and road users when works are being carried out to the carriageway and adjoining areas in connection with the Kirkwall THI Project and when street light replacement works are being carried out.
The order will come into operation on Sunday 1 September 2019 for the period until and including Thursday 30 April 2020 and its effect will be to close the roads in Kirkwall listed in the Schedule and adjoining footways, prohibited parking and restrict the flow of vehicular traffic when required while the work is taking place. The Broad Street Car Park (next to The Reel) will also be closed when required. The restrictions will be effective only when the relevant road signs are in place.

Broad Street, Palace Road (from Broad Street to Watergate), Tankerness Lane, Victoria Street (from Broad Street to Victoria Road) and Watergate (from Buttquoy Crescent to Palace Road).
