Orkney Islands Council has made an Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to ensure the safety of site personnel and road users while construction works are carried out and services are installed in the vicinity of Franklin Road and the Old Academy Car Park, Stromness.
The Order will come into operation on Monday 3 June 2019 for the period until and including Sunday 29 September 2019 and its effect will be to close Franklin Road, Stromness between Church Road and Bank Lane together with any adjoining footways. The Old Academy Car Park (or part thereof) will also be closed between 08:00 and 22:00 when required. Traffic signs will be erected to indicate when the length of road and car park are closed, and parking will not be permitted.
