Gavin Leask, Road Worker

Name: Gavin Leask

Age: 33

Department: Roads

Job title: Road Worker

Duties: Winter maintenance, surface dressing, tarring, street lighting, standby duties, cover on the waste side.

How has life changed during and since lockdown? Staggered start and finish times, limited numbers on the tea hut and locker room; one person vehicles; additional cleaning of vehicles and roads and waste teams being split due to numbers.

How has life changed personally during and since lockdown? Having no trips away or football to ref has been the main changes; no weekend work on the door with pubs being closed.

How have you found the public’s reaction to changes? 50/50 split with folk agreeing and disagreeing with the changes.

What are you looking forward to most when restrictions end? Meeting pals for a couple of pints; being able to get away for gigs, football and rugby matches
