Gritter crews continue to deal with drifting snow

Gritter crews continue to deal with drifting snow
12 February 2021

All priority one and two routes have been boarded/ploughed and treated at least once this morning by our gritter teams.Gritter in action dealing with drifting snow conditions.

However, we are still encountering issues in a number of areas with snow blowing in off the fields at the time of this post, so monitoring and clearing continues.

These are the areas affected, and we would advise taking extra care:

  • Birsay Crossroads – Swannay Farm.
  • B9056, Voy – Quoyloo – Oxtro Junction.
  • A967, Voy – Brodgar.
  • Cauldhame.
  • A960, Heathery Loan – Airport.
  • B9052, School – Cornquoy Road.
  • A961, Holm Straight, Rashieburn, Gaitnip.
  • A965, Stoneyhill – Harray Junction.

Some priority three routes have been treated, but our main concern has to remain keeping the main routes open.

We thank you for your ongoing patience and assistance by staying home whenever possible.
