Orkney Library and Archive are taking part in the celebrations by hosting a series of events during the week including visits from Chris Brookmyre and Lin Anderson, the launch of the third season of the popular Hurricane Book Club in collaboration with Pan MacMillan, and a lesson in bannocks and bere meal with Rosemary Moon and The Barony Mill. They are also holding a special session of their every popular Yap and Yarn in Kirkwall.

They also look forward to welcoming Daniel Gray and Ron Ferguson who will be part of a Nil by Mouth event discussing their love of books and reading.

Karen Walker, Principal Librarian said: “We’re delighted to be holding these events during Book Week Scotland, giving everyone in the community the opportunity to share their love of books and reading and this year the added bonus of knitting and cooking thrown in.”

Please contact the library for more information about the events or to book a place.
