Bus, ferry and Museum changes for 'Hoy on Hoy' event and visit by Sir Chris

Date: 30 August 2022

The Council is advising of changes to public transport and to Scapa Flow Museum opening times as a result of the ‘Hoy on Hoy’ events on the island on Saturday 17 September.

Scapa Flow Museum will be closed until 2pm on 17 September as Sir Chris Hoy and major funders of the project are given a private tour of the newly redeveloped facility.

Anyone wishing to visit Hoy on 17 September for the community events starting at 11am in Lyness are advised to check the amended ferry service for the day to and from Houton, Flotta and Lyness ferry terminals, and to book foot passenger and vehicle spaces as soon as possible via www.orkneyferries.co.uk

The public bus Service 2 between Kirkwall and Houton will also operate a changed timetable for the day to meet with the amended ferry sailings – full details are available at www.orkney.gov.uk/bus
