European Parliamentary Election - Thursday 23 May 2019

An order was laid in the Parliament on Monday 8 April 2019 setting the date for the European Parliamentary Election. Polling for this election was held on Thursday 23 May 2019 with votes counted on Sunday 26 May 2019.

Arrangements for holding elections to the European Parliament are being made by Orkney Islands Council, in line with local authorities across the country. Should the United Kingdom take part, the UK will elect 73 MEPs. Scotland is one of 12 electoral regions in the UK and will elect six MEPs.
