Development Management
The planning system guides the use and development of land in the long term public interest.
Development Management is responsible for assessing planning applications and applications for listed building consent, conservation area consent, advertisement consent, hazardous substance consent, consent to prune or fell protected trees and prior notifications.
Submitting a Planning Application
If you are thinking of submitting a planning application, it is recommended that you discuss your proposal with a planning officer prior to submitting your application. We are happy to give informal advice and any draft drawings would aid the advice we can provide. It would be good to call us first to arrange an appointment. You can submit a planning application by either:
a. completing a planning application in paper format (forms are available from the relevant planning sections which can be accessed via the first menu on the left of this page).
b. completing a planning application online - Click on the link 'Submit an Online Application' from the 'Online Planning Applications' menu on the left of this page.
View applications online
This allows you to access information on all planning applications and appeals. This provides you with the ability to view forms, drawings, correspondence and supporting documents. Click on the link 'Search for Online Applications' from the 'Online Planning Applications' menu on the left of this page.
Please note there may be a few days delay from our receiving an application and it being available to view online.
Any comments on a planning application will also be viewable online. In order to comply with the Data Protection Act we remove any personal details (telephone numbers, email addresses and signatures) from the documents shown on our website.
