Orkney Local Development Plan

The Development Plan Scheme 2010

On the 27th April 2010, the Development Plan Scheme 2010 was published, which forms our 2nd Local Development Plan Newsletter and Development Plan Timeline. Under new planning legislation Development Planning and Regeneration have to revise the Development Plan Scheme every year so that it is up to date.

The aim of the Newsletter is to provide planning stakeholders and members of the public with an update on the review of the Development Plan, including details of the stages that still have to be completed as well as when and how you can get involved and have your say. The Development Plan Scheme Timeline provides a programme of work and associated timescales. Note that we are still on schedule to deliver a new Local Development Plan for Orkney by March 2012.

The Newsletter also provides details of our Development Plan Database, which demonstrates the wide range of people and organisations that want to be involved in potential policy options for the new Local Development Plan. A list of the Supplementary Guidance that we wish to complete as part of the Orkney Local Development Plan is also provided.

Remember – We are still on schedule to have a new adopted Local Development Plan for Orkney by March 2012.
