On-shore Wind Energy Development - Supplementary Guidance
The Council is aware of both the potential of renewable energy developments and the challenges, and wishes to be supportive of development which can be accomodated in such a way as to minimise the impact on the County's assets.
This Supplementary Guidance, in conjunction with the Council's Sustainable Energy Strategy (due to be finalised Autumn 2008) seeks to address these issues and provide applicants and the public with a robust framework to assess new development against and to maximise the potential for wind energy development in Orkney.
