Revenue Estimates 2007/08 and Capital Programme 2007/08 to 2009/10
The Local Government Finance Act 1992 is the legislative basis for the current system of local taxation, namely Council Tax. The Council is required to set a balanced budget by the 11th March in the financial year preceding that for which it is set.
The revenue budget for the financial year 2007/08, commencing 1 April 2007, was agreed on 8 February 2007 and a Council Tax of £1,037 was set. This represented a 3.0% increase from the previous year.
