Orkney Islands Council is encouraging local people to sign up to a new online car sharing scheme.
www.ifyoucareshare.com, which has been set up by HITRANS, helps to match up people undertaking the same journey, whether it be a one-off shopping trip south or a daily commute into Kirkwall.
Users complete the online registration form and their details are then entered into a secure database. The website then provides the member with a list of suitable sharers. It is then up to the user to contact their potential car share partners.

Road Closures and Restrictions
Orkney Islands Council has announced a programme of road surface dressing works between May 16 and September 30. There may be road closures or other restrictions as a result in order to ensure the safety of site personnel and road users.
