Where Can I Find Out About The Latest Job Vacancies At Orkney Islands Council?

All of the Council's job vacancies are now advertised on the national recruitment portal 'MyJobScotland'.

What Is MyJobScotland?

MyJobScotland is the new national shared recruitment portal for Scotland's 32 local authorities.

Other public sector bodies such as the fire, rescue and police services can also use the site.

The portal has been designed to carry in excess of 30,000 vacancies and process around 250,000 applications every year. It is a UK and international first in terms of scope and scale.

What Does It Do?

It advertises job vacancies online through a single internet portal allowing candidates in any location to view vacancies and submit applications online. Applicants can also register for job alerts via email.

The benefits for the Council are that it allows us to recruit from a wider pool of employees, support more effective recruitment practices, reduce advertising expense and improve efficiency and productivity.
