Travel Grants
Various grants are offered to assist with travel costs for groups or individuals.
Aims
General Grants
To help towards the costs of local groups and individuals travelling:
- From the outlying islands to the Orkney mainland or
- From Orkney to the Scottish mainland.
Talented Young Persons and Talented Performers Grant
- To help talented individuals travel to events, national squad training and competitions at a national level.

1. Application Form
Forms G1-3 must be completed and returned to the Council at least 2 weeks prior to the event for which the application is being made. These can be accessed from the links within the Related Downloads section.

2. Claim Form
Form G4 must be completed and returned to the Council within 1 month from the date of the event. This will be sent out to applicants once their initial application has been approved.
General Notes
A budget is set for the support of travel grants and this will continue to be allocated on a first come, first serve basis until fully allocated, at which point further applications will not be accepted.
The budget will be divided into 4 separate quartiles of equal amounts: April-June, July-September, October-December, January-March, the claim being made for the month in which the event takes place.
Travel grants will be subject to a maximum of two claims per quarter from any group or individual and allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
Enhanced grants will be subject to a maximum of 3 claims per person per year.
