I Spy Stromness was created by Stromness Primary P7 pupils, with support from Stromness Tours and stone masons from Historic Scotland. The pupils created a self-guided trail leaflet which introduces the reader to the history of Stromness. Alongside the leaflet there are carvings on paving though the town for the user of the leaflet to find. You will see them if you look carefully when you are going through the street.
I Spy Stromness was launched in June 2013, with explorer bags provided to 500 Primary School pupils. It’s appropriate for any age but especially for children who can explore the carvings through the street and can either listen or read the information. Anyone can pick up a leaflet from Visit Orkney in the Ferry terminal building Stromness or in Visit Orkney offices in Kirkwall or it can be downloaded using the link in the related sites section.
