The first step of admission is to contact Orkney Health and Care, Adult Services Help Desk, as follows:

  • Visit: Council Reception desk at School Place and ask to speak to the Orkney Health and Care Help Desk worker between 09:00 and 13:00.
  • Phone 01856 873535, Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 13:00 or 13:00 to 17:00 if an emergency.
  • Email at the Adult Services Helpdesk.

A Care Manager will be allocated; who will assess the needs of the individual and make a recommendation for a placement dependent on their assessment. The Allocation of Residential Care (ARC) process can be found in the 'Related Links' section of this page.
