Planning Applications Monitoring

The Council is responsible for the determination and monitoring of planning applications, and other associated applications, listed building consent, advertisement consent etc. This responsibility is carried out by the Development Management team in Development and Environment Services.

Once an application has been sent in and registered by the Development Management team, it will be handled by a case officer. The case officer will carry out a site visit and assess any comments or responses from consultees, neighbours and other interested parties. Most applications are processed within eight weeks. Applicants or their agent will be kept informed of progress and the case officer may be in touch to discuss any queries with them.

Anyone making representations on an application will be given the opportunity to make their representations heard at a meeting of the Council’s Planning and Protective Services Committee.
