If you receive one of the benefits below, and your child turns two between 1 March and 28 or 29 February you will be able to apply for a free Early Learning and Childcare place.
Note: the income threshold for Child Tax Credit and Working Tax Credit can vary annually.
Your child will also be eligible if they are Looked After, are under a kinship care order, or under a guardianship order.
Your child will be entitled to 600 hours of Early Learning and Childcare each full year they attend, but it is up to parents how many they use. You can use just two sessions a week, or take all of the sessions on offer.
Once your child has a two year old place, they keep it even if your circumstances change.
Further information on settings that offer two year old places is available from the 'Related Links' section of this page.
If your local setting does not offer two year old places, please do still apply. We will offer you a place in a nearby setting. If you need help with petrol money or bus fares, you can make an application for financial support. The Sure Start Application Form is available in PDF format from the 'Related Downloads' section of this page. All applications will be considered carefully and we will let you know if you have been successful as soon as possible.
If you would like to apply for a two year old place, please fill in the registration form and return it to us, along with copies of documents to show which benefits you are entitled to. We will then let you know where we have a place for your child.
Registration forms are available in PDF format from the 'Related Downloads' section of this page.
