Orkney Care and Repair
Orkney Care and Repair have been providing a wide range of help and assistance with works of Repair, Improvement and Adaptation to residents in Orkney since 1988. We now also deliver the Councils obligation to provide a “Scheme of Assistance” for Home Owners and Private Tenants.
We offer independent advice and practical help with a wide range of housing related problems:
- Help you decide what repairs are needed.
- Give you an idea of how much the work will cost.
- Help to find suitable builders.
- Assist you fill in forms and organise paperwork.
- Help you to cope with problems and upset in the home while work is being done.
- Organise plans and specifications.
- Give advice and help to apply for grants and loans where available.
- Help you compile a financial package of assistance to enable works to proceed.
- Put you in touch and help to liaise with other agencies which may be able to help.
We also offer a Small Repair Service which is available to elderly and disabled households to assist them remain at home:
- Fit grab-rails, ramps, etc.
- Carry out minor maintenance works.
- Assess your home for safety, security and trip hazards.
- Assist hospital discharge.
