Development Planning and Regeneration

The Development Planning and Regeneration Team cover a range of responsibilities associated with policy and project development for the use and development of land in Orkney.

The core responsibility of the team is the preparation and review of the Local Development Plan for Orkney, and associated policy documents.

The Development Planning and Regeneration team also have a responsibility for biodiveristy, archaeology, access, conservation and design issues and has a leading role in the Council's regenertation projects.  The Scapa Flow Landscape Partnership and Stromness Townscape Heritage Initiative projects also form part of the Development Planning and Regeneration Team.
