Changes of Circumstances

If you are claiming Council Tax Reduction (previously called Council Tax Benefit) you must tell us about any changes that would affect your entitlement to the reduction, for example, if your income changes.

Failure to notify us of changes in your circumstances may result in any overpaid benefits being recovered from you.

Approximately 85% of all over-payments are as a result of delays in telling the Council about changes in circumstances.  You will reduce the risk of being overpaid if you tell us straight away about any changes.
