Building Community Capacity

Throughout Orkney, the Community Learning, Development & Employability Service (CLDE) provide community development support to voluntary groups and organisations involved in a wealth of activities of benefit to their local communities. CLDE support Community Associations, Community Schools and other community groups on a bespoke and tailored basis. The team provide training, organise events, deliver project work and promote effective community engagement and involvement.

Working hand in hand with local people and community organisations, our aim is to secure the highest quality of life for people throughout the county. By listening to you, and supporting the development of strong, locally-based organisations, we can help maintain thriving communities across the islands.

Annual Meeting of Community Associations

The Annual Meeting of Community Associations provides our halls and community centres the opportunity to get together for training, information sharing and workshop opportunities to help them develop the valuable resources in each community.
