Temporary Closure of Roads for Festive Lighting Ceremonies in Finstown and Kirkwall

Notice is hereby given that Orkney Islands Council has made an order in terms of section 62 of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 to the effect that, in connection with festive lighting ceremonies, the following traffic restrictions will apply on the dates and between the hours specified.

Finstown, Friday 8 December 2017

The western half of the car park on the east side of the A965 opposite Firth Kirkyard will be closed to vehicular traffic and parking will not be permitted between 18:00 and 19:30.

Kirkwall, Saturday 9 December 2017

Albert Street, Bridge Street, Broad Street, Castle Street (from Broad Street to the Castle Street Car Park exit), Palace Road (from Broad Street to Watergate), Tankerness Lane (one way section only) and Victoria Street (from Broad Street to Victoria Road) will be closed to vehicular traffic between 16:30 and 19:30 and parking will not be permitted between 15:30 and 19:30. Furthermore, Broad Street Car Park (next to The Reel) will be closed between 15:30 and 19:30.

The order does not affect any vehicle lawfully displaying a valid disabled person's badge and not causing an obstruction.
