Prohibition of Waiting Order - Stromness

On 20 December 2018 Orkney Islands Council made the above-named Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the Order, which comes into operation on 31 December 2018 is as described in the relevant notice of proposals published in The Orcadian on 7 June 2018 save for the modification that all day parking will now be permitted (rather than a maximum of 30 minutes in any one hour between 09:00 and 17:00 on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive) in four of the seven parking spaces situated on the north north east side of Church Road, Stromness.

A copy of the Order and the relative maps may be inspected during normal office hours at Customer Services, Orkney Islands Council, Council Offices, Kirkwall, KW15 1NY (between 09:00 to 17:00 Mondays to Fridays inclusive) and at Warehouse Buildings, 2-12 Victoria Street, Stromness, KW16 3AA (09:15 to 19:00 on Mondays, 09:15 to 17:00 Tuesday to Friday and 10:45 to 16:00 on Saturdays).

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement of that Act or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with may, within six weeks from
20 December 2018, make application to the Court of Session for this purpose.
