A ten pence increase in the price of school meals in Orkney will come into effect later this month.
From Tuesday 18 April, a two course school meal will cost £2.20 for primary pupils and £2.30 for secondary pupils. The current prices are £2.10 and £2.20 respectively.
This is in line with a Council decision, taken when setting the budget for 2017 to 2018, that existing fees and charges for most Council services should increase by at least 3% from April 2017.
