Orkney Islands Council's spring and summer road resurfacing programme for 2019 is due to get underway next week.
Work will begin on the eastern outskirts of Kirkwall as follows:
- Monday 13 May – Inganess Road (Deerness Road to Inganess Farm).
- Tuesday 14 May – Inganess Beach Road (Inganess Farm to Beach Car Park).
- Tuesday 14 May – Heathery Loan (A960 to A961).
Work is expected to begin between 08:30 and 9:00 each morning, although morning traffic will be allowed through unhindered where possible.
Short delays of up to 20 minutes may be encountered throughout the day. On rare occasions this may extend to 45 minutes on narrower roads, but the aim is to keep this to a minimum.
