Orkney Opinions signup reminder

Orkney Opinions signup reminder
14 March 2017

Orkney Islands Council is reminding local residents who would like to join Orkney Opinions – but have not yet returned their membership survey - to do so by the end of this week.

Invitations were sent to randomly selected people to join the new Council-run public forum in recent weeks.

Gillian Morrison, the Council’s Executive Director of Corporate Services, said: “It would be great if we could get around 200 people involved in Orkney Opinions - so that we have a good representative membership from across the community.

“We’d like to stress that getting involved won’t be onerous – we’ll be asking members to complete around four surveys over a 12 month period.”

The aim of ‘Orkney Opinions’ is to give people the opportunity to let the Council know what they feel about local services and suggest how improvements can be made, and to assist the Council to gather feedback and opinion on a wide range of issues.

‘Orkney Opinions’ will be run initially for one year as a pilot exercise.

Membership surveys should be returned to the Council as advised in their invitation pack. To obtain a replacement, contact Anna Whelan by email or by calling (01856) 87 35 35 ext 2160.
