New Scapa Road in Kirkwall will be closed for the whole of next week whilst final utility works are carried out at the site of the new hospital.
The road will be closed from Monday December 4 to Sunday December 10.
During this time Robertson Construction Ltd will be carrying out the final connection of some public utility services to the new hospital site, as well as permanent reinstatement of earlier excavation works.
Traffic diversions will be in place and there will be a safe route for pedestrians available at all times.
Residents in the area will be notified by Robertson Construction Ltd of access arrangements.
Stagecoach advises of the following route amendments:
- X1 from St Margaret's Hope will now travel down Clay Loan.
- Service 4 will turn left off New Scapa Road into Pipersquoy, right into Kirklands Road, Quoybanks Crescent, re-joining route on Holm Road.
- Service 9 will turn right at the Foreland roundabout onto Holm Branch Road, re-join route on Holm Road.
