With two weeks to go until the local council elections, Orkney Islands Council’s elections team is reminding voters to check where their polling station is.

Your polling station is noted on your polling card. A list of polling stations is available on the Council website, along with a list of the candidates standing for election.

Voters in Stromness and the South Isles are reminded that there be no vote in this ward. The three candidates who stood for the three seats available – Rob Crichton, James Stockan and Magnus Thomson – will become councillors on 4 May.

Voters in Evie and Rendall will be using the new Evie Primary School building, accessing the polling station through the main entrance. Temporary car parking arrangements are currently in place at the school and on polling day car parking attendants will be on site to ensure that those with a Blue Badge or mobility issues can access a space close to the school entrance.

Polling stations open at 07.00 on 4 May and close at 22.00. The election count takes place the following day, with results expected by lunchtime on Friday.
