A special event in the Kirkwall Town Hall on Saturday February 25 will showcase activities and services available for young people in Orkney.
Run by the Council’s Community Learning and Development Team in partnership with the Orkney Youth Workers Forum, the Youth Information Day will run from 11.30am to 1pm.
Entrance to the event is free and everyone is welcome to drop in at any time throughout the event.
There will be stalls from over 20 local and national groups and agencies providing youth work services in the county.
OIC’s Community Learning Officer Bill Innes said: “There’s a surprising number of groups and organisations working with young people in Orkney.
“This day gives everyone a chance to find out who those bodies are and what kind of things are on offer locally for teenagers, ranging from challenging outdoor education activities, to youth café’ projects, where to go for counselling and advice if you are a young person, and information on volunteering opportunities.
“There’s bound to be something of interest there to young people or their parents or indeed anyone involved with youth work in Orkney, so we hope to see as many parents and young people as possible coming along to have a good look around.”
